he RISK RL210 / RL211 Dummy Hub Chain Keeper is a practical bicycle maintenance tool designed for chain cleaning, chain lubrication, bike transport, and rear wheel removal service. It replaces the rear wheel during maintenance, keeping the chain supported and tensioned so the drivetrain can rotate smoothly while cleaning or applying lubricant.
The RL210 thru-axle version is designed for bicycles with 12 mm thru-axle frames. It is lightweight, compact, and includes 2 chain oiling sponge rings, allowing it to be used as a simple chain oiler during drivetrain maintenance.
The RL211 quick-release version features a sliding rod and dummy pulley design. It is compatible with both quick-release frames and 12 mm thru-axle frames, making it more versatile for different bikes. The RL211 also includes 2 oiling sponge rings and a disc brake piston block, helping prevent accidental brake lever pressing during cleaning or transport.
A separate 20-piece chain oiling sponge ring refill pack is also available for users who need extra consumable sponge rings.

How to Use for Chain Cleaning
- Remove the rear wheel from the bike.
- Install the dummy hub / chain keeper in the rear dropout area.
- Place the chain onto the dummy pulley or guide groove.
- Rotate the crank slowly to clean the chain.
- For RL211, the sliding rod allows smoother left-right chain movement during shifting simulation.
How to Use for Chain Lubrication
- Install the included oiling sponge ring onto the tool.
- Apply a small amount of chain lubricant to the sponge ring.
- Rotate the crank slowly so the chain passes across the lubricated sponge.
- Wipe off excess lubricant after application.
Sponge rings are consumable parts. For frequent maintenance, it is recommended to purchase extra refill rings.
Important Notes
- RL210 is only suitable for 12 mm thru-axle frames.
- RL211 is compatible with quick-release and 12 mm thru-axle frames.
- The included piston block may not fit every hydraulic disc brake caliper due to different brake designs. If incompatible, please use the original brake manufacturer’s piston block.
- The shape of the included piston block may vary slightly between production batches.
- The center foam piece in the sponge ring is for transport protection. Please remove it before use.
- Storage hook-and-loop strap shown in images is not included.
