The RISK RL216 / RL213 Mini Bike Chain Master Link Pliers are compact bicycle chain tools designed for installing and removing chain quick links, also known as master links or missing links. Made from durable carbon steel, these pliers are strong, practical, and easy to carry for both workshop maintenance and on-the-road repair.

Both RL216 and RL213 can be used for quick link installation and removal. The tool head is designed for dual operation, while the curved handle provides a comfortable grip. A return spring helps the pliers open smoothly after use, and the locking clip keeps the tool compact for storage.

Each set includes 1 chain holder hook, which helps hold the chain ends in place during quick link installation or removal. This makes chain service easier, especially when replacing a chain, cleaning the drivetrain, or repairing the bike during a ride.

Difference Between RL216 and RL213

Both RL216 and RL213 are mini chain master link pliers designed for installing and removing bicycle quick links. The main difference is the operation direction:

• RL216: Install by pressing inward, remove by pulling outward.
• RL213: Install by pulling outward, remove by pressing inward.

Other functions are generally the same. Both models include a chain holder hook and are suitable for bicycle chain maintenance.

How to Use the Chain Holder Hook

1. Shift the chain to a relaxed position if possible.
2. Place the chain holder hook onto both sides of the chain section being serviced.
3. Keep the chain ends close together to reduce tension.
4. Install or remove the quick link using the master link pliers.
5. Remove the chain hook after the quick link is securely installed or removed.

How to Install a Quick Link

1. Confirm the correct chain length.
2. Remove the outer plates at both ends of the chain if needed.
3. Place the two quick link plates onto the chain ends from opposite sides.
4. Connect both ends of the quick link onto the chain pins.
5. Use the pliers according to the correct model direction:
   • RL216: press inward to install.
   • RL213: pull outward to install.
6. Check that the quick link is fully locked before riding.

How to Remove a Quick Link

1. Locate the quick link on the chain.
2. Use the included chain hook to reduce chain tension.
3. Place the plier tips onto both sides of the quick link.
4. Use the pliers according to the correct model direction:
   • RL216: pull outward to remove.
   • RL213: press inward to remove.
5. Remove the quick link carefully and separate the chain.
